As a commercial marketing model, blind boxes are very successful. They accurately capture the psychology of consumers - they can bring a sense of surprise, stimulation and mystery. These feelings are easily addictive. This uncertain stimulation makes players more likely to buy repeatedly.
But on the other hand, more and more industries use this model to market, and the problems have gradually become prominent. This is the case with the repeated exposure of pet blind boxes, wearing the cloak of blind boxes and doing things that go against human nature.
It is understood that the unit price of a blind box store is around 30 yuan, and more than 5,000 pieces were sold in a month, with an income of more than 150,000 yuan. These stores will tell consumers that if the pet dies, they can send one again after taking a photo. It is obvious that the cost is not high. They also know the health status of the pet they sell and know that there are high risks during transportation, but for the sake of profit, they still choose to take risks and challenge the legal red line.
If the merchants selling blind boxes are bad, then the people who buy pet blind boxes are stupid and bad. They are lucky enough to buy expensive varieties for 9.9 yuan, and regard raising pets as a show-off game.
They may not know what kind of torture the pets will suffer during transportation, but they are controlled by pathological desires and lose their basic rationality, or in other words, they don’t care about these things at all.
Will such people spend money to treat pets with illness and bad condition after buying them? Obviously the probability is not high, otherwise they wouldn’t need to buy blind boxes. Wouldn’t it be enough to just spend money to buy the variety they like?
The dignity of life is trampled completely in front of blind boxes. Even if they are lucky enough to buy high-quality pet blind boxes, they are unlikely to become a responsible pet owner. It may be that fresh and throw away the pets without paying attention, which will make the problem of stray cats and dogs in the city more and more serious.
No matter from which perspective, pet blind boxes are business without bottom lines, which builds the happiness of a small number of people on the pain of animals and the conscience of others. This is an alienation of entertainment activities and a deviation from social morality.
In fact, there is no way to rely on pet blind boxes. The Postal Law explicitly prohibits the mailing of live animals. Only by implementing the regulations, conducting stricter supervision and management of express delivery companies, and cutting off the transportation chain of pet blind boxes, can this bloody business truly disappear.
After the incident of pet blind box in Chengdu was exposed, major e-commerce platforms removed related products one after another. However, during their operation, they lack effective management. Some illegal merchants use homophones and pictures to evade the platform's detection methods, or transfer traffic to other platforms for transactions, which ultimately leads to inhuman abuse of kittens and puppies. E-commerce platforms need to strengthen their information screening and monitoring capabilities, promptly discover illegal information, and punish them.
Whether buying or selling pets, you should have a high sense of responsibility, because pets are also life. In essence, life is equal, and people cannot torture and abuse other lives for their own interests and preferences.
