Cats and dogs are both relatively sensitive animals. We found that their hearing is also very good, but which one is better? Let’s briefly talk about whose hearing is more sensitive, cats or dogs.

Cats' hearing is more sensitive than dogs, because dogs' hearing range is generally 15-50000 Hz, while cats' hearing range is 60-65000 Hz, so relatively speaking, cats have a wider range of sound perception.

The reason why a cat’s hearing is so developed mainly depends on its hunting method. Cats rely more on ambush to attack. Therefore, each ear has 32 independent muscles, which can achieve 180-degree all-round detection, just like radar, which can hear sounds farther away.

Compared with dogs, cats have more flexible ears. They can even use both ears to distinguish sounds from different directions at the same time. They can basically make accurate judgments regardless of distance. However, cats' hearing will also decrease with age.

Generally, their sensitivity to sound will decrease when they are 3-4 years old, but they can still sense the small vibrations around them through the large number of tactile organs on their foot pads to judge whether the surrounding situation is dangerous.
