The National Institute of Health Research (NIH) has found that there are currently about 6.7 million people in the country who suffer from dementia, and it is estimated that the population of dementia may increase to 13.8 million by 2060, forming a heavy burden on family and society. However, the latest research has found that drinking three cups of green tea every day can not only prevent dementia, but also reduce cardiovascular disease and cancer risks.

According to the New York Post report, Japanese researchers investigated nearly 9,000 adults' habits of drinking coffee or tea by asking for a voucher, and then scanned the brain groups of visitors and found that the "white matter" of the elderly who often drink green tea has a lower chance of illness, and "white matter" is related to cognitive ability and is also a key reason for dementia.

As for drinking coffee, researchers have not found any effective effect on preventing dementia, so they concluded that drinking green tea (especially three cups or more a day) may be more helpful than coffee to prevent dementia.

This study is consistent with past research results, and it is proven that green tea has the ability to prevent the elderly from decreasing their brains. According to the 2022 comprehensive analysis (meta-analysis), drinking a cup of green tea every day is enough to reduce the risk of dementia by 6%.

Studies have also found that drinking two to three cups of green tea a day can achieve the best effect of reducing cognitive decline. As drinking four or more cups does not have a clearer effect, it is enough to show that drinking green tea is one of the main reasons why there are few dementia elderly people in Ikaria.

Moreover, drinking green tea regularly can not only prevent brain degeneration, but also have other benefits; because green tea is rich in antioxidants, which is commonly known as "catechins" "Epigallocatechin gallate", which has antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-neoplastic effects, can protect cells and reduce the chance of cancer.

According to a 2023 study, taking 2 to 4 cups of green tea per day can also reduce the chance of medium-spray 24%. Therefore, drinking green tea regularly can help reduce calcium sterol and blood pressure, thereby reducing cardiovascular disease and medium-spray risks.
