In the second round of the Champions League in October, Chelsea will play against Benfica at home. According to the Telegraph, Chelsea set the ticketing level of the Champions League game to the most expensive "AA" because former meritorious coach Mourinho will lead Benfica back to Stamford Bridge, which has aroused strong resistance from fans.

Under this level, the average adult ticket price is as high as 83 pounds, and fans accused the club of using the return of its legendary figure to "make money." Fan representatives were "unstoppable" about this, believing that the people who are managing football are "destroying the sport."

Fans criticized the high ticket prices for hurting ordinary families who were struggling for their livelihoods, and expressed dissatisfaction with the club's notice of price increases in a short time before the game and the cancellation of discounted ticket prices for teenagers and elderly people. A fan representative pointed out that he had to pay £50 tickets for his 12-year-old son and believed that the club would rather attract one-time tourists than take care of loyal local fans.

Chelsea Fans Trust also issued a statement accusing the club of "poor communication, unreasonable price increases and indifference to fans" and clearly demanded that the club "stop using our loyalty." The club declined to comment, but it was reported that the pricing was basically consistent with other clubs, and the club consulted the fan advisory board earlier this year on changes to preferential policies.
