Despite some difficulties encountered in the initial stages of the Premier League, Leverkusen sporting director Rolfes still firmly believes that Wirtz's move to Liverpool was the right decision.
At an international media event on Thursday, Rolfes said: "There is no doubt that Wirtz will succeed and become a truly dominant player."
Although Wirtz has yet to score a goal or assist in the first nine games of the Premier League and Champions League, Rolfes still cited data and pointed out that Wirtz is the player who creates the most scoring opportunities in England.
Rolfes said: "Wiltz is a team player, and Liverpool is currently in a stage of rebuilding the team. When the team can better work together as a whole and everyone has a clear role, Wirtz's personal abilities will be further improved."
Wiltz won the Bundesliga championship and the German Cup with Leverkusen in 2024, and then moved to Liverpool, for which Leverkusen can receive up to 150 million euros in transfer fees.
