According to official news from the British League Blackpool, the club fired head coach Steve Bruce.

The Manchester United legend has previously coached several Premier League teams such as Sunderland, Newcastle and Aston Villa, but was removed from his post after only 11 games in the League One season. Blackpool was one of the popular teams that were promoted this season, but currently only achieved a record of two wins, two draws and seven losses, ranking second to last in the league.

Bruce, 64, was fired a few hours after Blackpool's 0-2 loss to AFC Wimbledon at home. The winning Wimbledon rose to fifth place in the league with this game.

Bruce was away from the coaching peddler for two years before taking over Blackpool's coaching position. The former Red Devils defender succeeded Neal Cridgeley in September last year, after he coached Championship club West Brom for eight months in 2022.

, who has commanded more than 1,000 games in his coaching career, told the BBC after losing to AFC Wimbledon 0-2: "I can find countless excuses, but this does not meet my personality. Today's performance is far from meeting the standards, and I must bear the responsibility for this."

The 64-year-old Bruce played more than 300 games for the Red Devils in his early coaching at Sir Ferguson. His coaching career began at Sheffield United 27 years ago. The experienced head coach has never left the English football world and has coached 13 different clubs in the professional football division three leagues.
