Give stray animals more care, every life should be treated with tenderness!

Cats and dogs, as two equally famous pets, are becoming more and more popular among everyone, and are even accepted as one of them in many families. Although the number of pets in China has been increasing year by year, the problem of stray animals is still very serious.

According to incomplete statistics, there are currently nearly 40 million stray dogs and nearly 10 million stray cats in China. Therefore, how to correctly treat stray animals has become a hot topic that tests human nature.

01  If you love, please love deeply

Since we are discussing stray animals, the editor suggests that you might as well watch this warm and tear-jerking variety show - "2% Love".

This is Station B’s first emotional reality show on stray animal rescue. The program invites guests from different fields to serve as volunteers at the animal welfare center, taking care of every stray animal that comes here, providing them with loving rescue, treatment and companionship, and ultimately finding suitable adopters for them to lead a happy life in the future. At the same time, the program will also popularize knowledge about stray animal adoption and show the warm bond between humans and pets.

What is "2% love"?

When they see the name of the program, many people will be confused. Why is love limited by a percentage? The name may seem sweet, but the explanation behind it is stark reality: There are currently hundreds of millions of stray animals in the world, but less than 2% of them can be properly cared for. Even these 2% of adopted animals still face the situation of being abandoned again.

The remaining 98% are starving in stinking ditches, trash cans, ruins and other places, and are always facing the possibility of being driven away or even abused.

Among the 2% of them

this dog is called Benben. It always hangs its head when facing the camera and curls up in the corner. The staff at the welfare center said that it is a dog that is extremely unwilling to contact the outside world and does not get close to people. It always cowers in the corner and is afraid of anyone approaching. Even in the face of the staff who treat it gently, it does not dare to let down its guard. Other dogs like to be outdoors in the natural environment, but he prefers to stay in a small cage because it is a safe place for him.

Orange, a proud little orange cat, seems to be no different from other cats at first glance. However, when it takes action, you will find that it is missing two hind legs and can only crawl forward... Orange once encountered a car accident, and the vehicle ran over its legs mercilessly. With its bones exposed, it still persisted for more than ten days until it was discovered and rescued. This kind of will made the pet doctor unable to bear to give up, and he just snatched this little life from the hands of death, but Orange also paid a huge price in the amputation of two hind limbs and a fracture of the left forelimb.

Whether it is Benben who has suffered psychological damage or Tangerine who has suffered physical damage, the animals living in the welfare center have all experienced unimaginable suffering to one degree or another. There was fear and avoidance in their eyes, as well as a hint of desire and sporadic anticipation. Compared with family pets, they are unfortunate, but compared with animals that are still wandering, they are lucky to have 2% of love.

02  If you don’t love them, please don’t hurt them

The real problem is that compared to the huge number of stray animals, the number of little ones who can be taken in and have the chance to be adopted is really insignificant.

Such a large city cannot accommodate stray animals. They can only wander in cold and dark corners, receiving looks of pity or disgust from passers-by. There are also endless news on social media about cat abuse and dog abuse.

Some time ago, a heartbreaking incident of cat abuse occurred: A man in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province poured hot water on a stray pregnant female cat on the street, killing one and five.

When I saw this news, the editor couldn't help but shudder. I really couldn't imagine how someone could be so cruel! That lovely mother cat and her four unborn cat babies were so easily deprived of the right to live.

However, such unfortunate incidents are just the tip of the iceberg. The current situation of stray animals is far more severe than we imagined.

03  Every life should be treated tenderly

Compared to humans, the lifespan of pets is very short, and their life is only a moment in the life of their owners; compared to humans, the world of pets is also very small, and their entire world is their owners.

For some people, keeping a pet may be a whim, and abandoning it may be just a thought. But for animals, abandonment by their owners is a trauma that will never heal. If you are not adequately prepared, and if you are unable to accompany you all the time, please consider raising a pet carefully.

At the same time, we should not underestimate our own strength and should not be stingy with our kindness. Maybe it is to give some food and water to stray animals, maybe to give them a shelter from the wind and rain, maybe to volunteer for the Stray Pet Protection Association for a day... Any small action we take is of great help to stray animals.

Public welfare does not mean one person’s all-out effort, but the best that the vast majority of people can do.

Use adoption instead of buying;

If you decide to adopt, you will be responsible to the end;

Even if you don’t love it, please don’t hurt it!
